Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege has gained massive popularity with an active e-gaming community. Ubisoft is now moving forward and has announced the next big update with “Operation Deadly Omen”.
Rainbow Six: Siege is particularly relevant to the eSports industry, which is currently evident in Brazil and elsewhere. The Six Invitational, the biggest tournament in tactical shooter Cosmos, takes place there – and Ubisoft is now using the event to announce the game's next big add-on, “Operation Deadly Omen”.
The new update, Rainbow Six: Siege aims to engage players and entertain them with new content and features. In Year 9 Season 1, you get a new operator again with Deimos, who has his own abilities and implements new approaches.
There are some long-awaited and big changes. Ubisoft has revised the way shields work better for players who want to feel safe behind them. At the same time, there are some caveats to keep them from becoming too powerful during the game. A new Free Look mechanic gives players more control over the field of view.
ADS mechanics have been overhauled in a big way, which should significantly change the weapon meta in the game. Further quality of life improvements, accessibility changes and improved onboarding systems round out the major update. And: Last but not least, the anti-cheat systems have also been updated. Operation Deadly Omen is out in March.
