Schwechat – AUA-KV: talks at different levels, but no negotiations

“We're in discussions at different levels,” an AUA spokesman said Friday when asked by APA. The Vida union said almost verbatim: “Discussions are taking place at different levels.” However, there are currently no negotiations, and there are no specific negotiation dates for the weekend or next week.

In a poll of VIDA union members earlier in the week, 90 percent decided against the AUA's final offer. Turnout was 88 percent, and 60 percent of board employees are VIDA members. Employers have previously criticized the poll as not being transparent and representing only a section of the workforce.

The airline recently announced that the Lufthansa subsidiary's offer to 3,500 flight attendants and pilots will now guarantee an 18 percent additional salary, up from 4 percent previously. Tenure 2 years 10 months. Specifically, the AUA offers an 8 percent salary increase effective March 1, 2024, and another 5 percent salary increase effective January 2025 and January 2026 for board employees.

Negotiations for a new AUA on-board staff KV have been dragging on for weeks. A strike and several union meetings this spring have already led to hundreds of flight cancellations and millions in damages to the airline.
