Website overhaul for Hampshire NHS Trust
Hampshire Partnership NHS Trust is overhauling its website to provide
a better source of online services and information for the local
community.
The Trust, which specialises in mental health and learning disability
services, wanted to redevelop its existing site to create a fully
compliant alternative that meets all the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act. It is also launching a new intranet which will act as a
central hub for information and is intended to promote information
sharing among staff.
In order to manage this new venture better, and following a formal
tendering process, Hampshire has decided to invest in the EasySite
Content Management System (CMS) from Nottingham-based EIBS.
EasySite CMS is a tool that allows users to build and manage interactive
websites, intranets and extranets. It comes in a range of versions —
Lite, Enterprise and Community — and is already widely used in the
public sector.
According to EIBS, the benefits of its system include:
- long-term cost savings;
- ease-of-use — it has been developed with non-technical users in
mind;
- high-quality content;
- no requirements for technical support for day-to-day publishing
activities;
- ability to create consistent branding via organisation-wide
styles and templates, and
- it is modular and therefore, easily expandable depending on
changing needs.
Terry Rydzynski, web editor for the Hampshire Partnership says: “We
chose EasySite as they already have an extensive client base within the
NHS and we knew they would understand and meet our requirements
effectively.”
