BridgeForward server for Nuffield Hospitals

14 June 2007

Application integration technology provider to the US and UK healthcare industry BridgeForward Software has been selected by Nuffield Hospitals — one of the largest private hospital groups in the UK — to support its bid to go fully digital by the end of the year.

The project, which also involves Agfa HealthCare and several other consortium partners, will include the installation of next-generation picture archiving and communications systems and radiology information systems from Agfa, computed radiography systems, Initiate Systems’ master patient index and Dictaphone’s PowerScribe. All 40 Nuffield hospitals are expected to complete the transition to fully digital imaging and data management by December.

“The decision to go with Agfa HealthCare, BridgeForward Software and their consortium partners was based on their ability to deliver the project in a tight timeframe and to provide the level of integration required in a complex multi-site organisation”, said Dr Mohammed Hussein, PACS Project Manager and Technical Consultant for the Nuffield Hospital Group.

BridgeForward is headquartered in Massachusetts and has offices in Epsom, Surrey.
