Successful GP2GP transfer
Primary-care software supplier EMIS has confirmed the successful
transfer of multiple electronic patient records between its own and
Battersea-based InPS’s GP and pharmacy systems.
Hailing the successful ‘version 1.1’ GP2GP transfer as “the most
significant development in healthcare computing for 10 years”, EMIS says
it is to accelerate the rollout of its version GP2GP software to all its
520 UK GP practice customers.
David Stables, Clinical Director of EMIS (and a co-founder of the
company) said the successful transfer of records between different GP
systems heralded the beginning of a new era in patient care: “The
significance of this development is that it proves that a patient’s full
medical record can follow them wherever they move — whether their new GP
has a different software system or not.”
