Ethitec and EMIS unveil systems link
The newly developed link between EMIS’s GP system and Leicester-based
Ethitec’s Tiara9 patient administration system was demonstrated for the
first time at HC2007 in March.
The EMIS-Tiara9 link, which enables a more seamless electronic
referral process between primary care and therapy services, is expected
to reduce waiting times for patients, improve clinical accuracy and
achieve cost reductions by removing the need to re-key patient data into
different systems. It is also expected to radically reduce the amount of
paper correspondence generated.
The link will also enable GPs and practice secretaries to request a
list of available therapy slots and subsequently book appointments
directly into Tiara9. Patients being referred to a physiotherapist (or
other allied health professional using Tiara9) can therefore leave their
GP surgery with their referral appointment already set.
Tiara9 will be fully interoperable with Leeds-based EMIS’s LV and PCS
clinical systems.
