Royal Marsden Hospital improves integration time
The Royal Marsden Hospital, the world’s first hospital dedicated to
cancer treatment and research, will be implementing InterSystems
Ensemble rapid integration software.
The hospital, which is ranked as one of the top two NHS trusts in the
country and has one of the most comprehensive electronic patient-record
systems in the UK, will use Ensemble to integrate its existing systems
with new software packages and with the Connecting for Health (CfH)
programme.
The integration software will enable the hospital to sustain full and
secure electronic patient records. Patients will remain safe in the
knowledge that clinicians have access to all the information they need,
when they need it. This will ensure that doctors, nurses and other
authorised users continue to make the best and most informed decisions
in the provision of care.
“A key factor that helped InterSystems win the business was its
proven track record in healthcare”, said Jon Reed, Director of ICT at
the Royal Marsden. “In addition, the cost-effectiveness of the software
and the business benefits it provides were also important criteria.”
InterSystems has offices in 21 countries, with its headquarters in
Massachusetts in the US.
