New maternity system for Winchester & Eastleigh
EuroKing Miracle’s third-generation maternity information system, E3,
went live at the Winchester & Eastleigh NHS Trust in December. The new
system replaced the Trust’s existing Protos maternity system and will
help deliver more than 3,000 babies each year.
The new system will be accessed by more than 100 users across two
sites, The Hampshire County Hospital for Central Hampshire and the
Community Hospital at Andover.
Described by Martyn Pitman, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
at the Trust, as “currently possibly the ‘gold standard’ antenatal and
labour reporting package”, E3 enables midwives to enter information at
the point of care and provides clinicians with an easily accessible,
single summary of a mother and baby’s obstetric care throughout her
entire pregnancy.

The system’s archiving capability allowed data from the existing
system to be archived and then integrated to E3, allowing users to
search and produce statistics from existing records.
