EMIS ahead of target on rollout of GP2GP
EMIS’s contract with Connecting for Health (CfH) to rollout GP2GP
record transfer is ahead of target — with 288 practices using it by the
end of 2006.
The leading healthcare IT provider agreed a deal with CfH last year to
install the software in 250 practices and to deliver staff training by
Christmas last year — and in 500 EMIS practices by March 2007.
But EMIS, whose systems are used by 56 per cent of GPs, was able to
announce last month (January) that nearly 300 practices had already
received it by the end of December, spread across 30 PCTs.
“We’re delighted such a large number of EMIS practices have been able
to take advantage of the benefits of GP2GP”, said Andy Whitwam, EMIS’s
Director Software Services. “We’re confident we’ll be able to meet our
target of 500 EMIS surgeries by March.”
EMIS is based in Leeds.
