Arden Cancer Centre chooses IMPAC software
The Arden Cancer Centre, part of the University Hospitals Coventry
and Warwickshire NHS Trust, is set to benefit from clinical decision
support following the successful introduction of software from
healthcare IT firm IMPAC Medical Systems.
The
Trust has selected IMPAC to implement its oncology-specific electronic
medical record system to help improve overall workflow and practice
management and to enhance care for cancer patients. The system includes
First DataBank Europe’s decision-support system, which is designed to
improve patient safety by helping clinicians reduce medication errors at
the point of prescribing.
“Patients at the Arden Centre rely on clinicians for the best
possible care”, said Dr Clive Irwin, Clinical Oncologist at University
Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust: “We have selected this
system, designed specifically for the context we work in, to provide the
patient and drug data and clinical decision support necessary for us to
select the best medicines and treatments for each individual, to ensure
patient safety.”
IMPAC is part of international medical-technology group Elektra.
First DataBank Europe is based in Exeter.
