New business wins for ScriptSwitch
ScriptSwitch, the UK’s leading supplier of ‘real-time’ support
software for prescribers, has recently signed contracts with 10 more
primary care trusts to supply its information and advice software to
practices — taking the company’s customer base to almost a quarter of
all primary care organisations in the UK.
These new business wins mean the Coventry-based company now supplies
the software to 62 PCTs across the UK — a 100% increase since the start
of the year.
The product has already saved the NHS over £3m and, as more PCTs sign
up, this figure looks set to increase — the potential savings to the NHS
are estimated at around £300m per year.
"With the National Programme for IT under considerable pressure to
deliver, ScriptSwitch provides a real local technology win for the NHS
by helping to improve care while saving money which can then be
reinvested in improving other services", says Mike Washburn,
ScriptSwitch Managing Director. "I believe it’s a real breakthrough for
the NHS and shows how successfully public and private partnerships can
work together in the health service."
ScriptSwitch research suggests that its software product can save the
average UK practice up to £35,000 a year.
