New Dragon dictation tool
A new dictation system, said to translate speech to text at more than
twice the speed of a fast typist — and with almost 100 per cent accuracy
— has been developed by Hands Free Computing Ltd.
The system, developed specifically for Misys Healthcare Systems
Laboratory and Radiology Systems in the UK, features UK-based
vocabularies developed to work with British, Indian, South East Asian,
Australian and American English language models to enhance accuracy and
uses the popular Dragon Naturally Speaking speech recognition system.
“The NHS is under increasing pressure to reduce costs without
compromising patient care”, says Simon Howard, Marketing Manager at
Nuance Dragon Professional & Healthcare Solutions. “This challenge is
considerable, but deploying solutions that feature speech technology can
help the NHS achieve its goals.”
