Microsoft reports on flexible working
Two reports exploring the impact of flexible and remote working
technologies on working relationships and the way we work have been
commissioned by Microsoft and are now available to download via the Web.
The Future Role of Trust in Work by LSE’s Dr Carsten Sørensen
explores what businesses need to do from a structural and management
perspective to see productivity gains from using new technology. He
looks in particular at the effects of communication and collaboration
technologies. Download the
full 40-page report.
Managing Tomorrow’s Worker – British Management at a Crossroads
by Henley Management College’s Dr Peter Thomson, meanwhile, looks at the
skills needed to be an effective manager “in an increasingly mobile and
flexible workplace”.
The growing number of ‘flexible workers’ in the UK, he says, has
exposed the lack of management capability among many of the UK’s middle
management. View the
full
report.
This report also includes case studies from organisations that have
introduced flexible-working policies.
