Sunderland measures performance with pbviews
Sunderland Teaching Primary Care Trust has installed ‘pbviews’
performance-management program from London–based Performancesoft Inc to
support its practice-based commissioning (PBC) initiative and deliver
management information for the annual health check of the Trust’s
performance.
As part of the practice-based commissioning scheme for the NHS, all
primary care trusts are expected to provide standardised financial and
activity information and benchmarks for all services covered under
Payment by Results and Prescribing.
pbviews allows the PBC information to be viewed over the web, using a
traffic-light system to provide an instant visual understanding of
performance. This is complemented by a dashboard function showing
trends, indexed performance and benchmarking information for each
measure.
“Prior to implementing pbviews we were stuggling to meet information
requirements for practice-based commissioning to all of our 54 GP
surgeries”, said Scott Watson, Performance and Commissioning Manager for
Sunderland TPCT. “Through the use of pbviews, we have now automated much
of the process and are not only saving time and resources previously
devoted to data collection and dissemination, but we are also confident
we’re now delivering on the information requirements to support practice
based commissioning.”
