CAS Services acquires Clinical Solutions
CAS Services Ltd, UK-based supplier of access-management and clinical
decision-support applications, announced last month (April) its
acquisition of US-based clinical content developer, Clinical Solutions
LLC (CSL).
The acquisition brings together the firm behind the UK’s NHS Direct
and a leading developer of automated clinical tools used throughout the
world by clinicians in call centres, walk-in clinics and emergency
services. The development team of CSL will join CAS as part of this
transaction.
“This deal solidifies a long-standing relationship between CAS and
Clinical Solutions. They have been instrumental in the success of our
decision-support solutions deployed throughout the UK to NHS Direct in
England and Wales, NHS 24 in Scotland and the national Walk In Centres”,
said Robert Thompson, CEO of CAS. “The clinical product portfolio that
Clinical Solutions brings to CAS will be pivotal to our expansion into
new markets both in the UK and internationally.”
CAS will use Clinical Solutions’ nurse triage content and other
products to continue creating innovative healthcare-access systems for
use in both call centre and face-to-face environments.
CAS, which is headquartered in Redhill, Surrey, was acquired in March
2005 by an international consortium of institutional investors
comprising Allco Finance Group, Bridgepoint and Benchmark Capital.
