Telindus shows latest technology at HC2006
Telindus used last month’s Healthcare Computing exhibition in
Harrogate to showcase its latest wireless applications, including WiFi
tags, wireless LAN (WLAN) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
“Traditionally, healthcare organisations have been at the cutting
edge of technology adoption and wireless networking is no different. We
are now seeing more trusts exploring how wireless WLANs and VoIP can
help them reduce operational costs”, said Telindus’ Mobility Solutions
Specialist James Walker at the event.
He cited The Royal Hospital Group in Belfast as an example. The
Group’s new wireless network includes a secure wireless LAN, enabling
staff to use mobile technologies such as PDAs to communicate with
colleagues in different departments. This has reduced administration
time and increased operational efficiency dramatically, said Mr Walker.
