Clinical information wiki launched
The Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems has
incorporated a wiki in its ejournal, The Informatics Review. Clinfowiki
is a wikipedia devoted to topics in clinical informatics, where any user
can log in and edit its content, with the aim of all users eventually
arriving at an agreed conclusion.
Created by Dean F Sittig in July 2005, the project is still in its
early stages. Subjects covered in ongoing articles include: electronic
medical record systems; computer-based provider order entry; clinical
decision support; personal health records; and regional health
information organisations.
In January this year, there were 1034 pages in the database,
including talk pages, information pages, minimal ‘stub’ pages, redirects
and others not really qualifying as content pages. There were 67
registered users, and there had been a total of 56,456 page views with
1,094 edits since setup.
“The goal of this resource is to provide clinical informaticians around
the world with a place to document and discuss many of the most
important lessons they have learned in their day-to-day activities”,
said Mr Sittig.
