Partnership delivers complete maternity solution
Bedfordshire-based Huntleigh Healthcare has struck an exclusive deal
with clinical systems provider Care Records to develop, market and
distribute the eclipse Maternity Information System.
The new product will provide a range of maternity, fetal medicine and
neonatal applications to integrate with Huntleigh’s existing Dopplex
Centrale labour ward monitoring and archiving system.
The eclipse system will be marketed both nationally and globally; in
the UK it will function as an advance maternity system within the
requirements of the National Programme for IT (NPfIT).
According to Peter Cashin, Managing Director of Huntleigh’s
Diagnostic Products Division, “This relationship allows us to offer our
customers complete solutions from handheld Dopplers and fetal monitors
right through to integrated hospital-wide, or even trust-wide, maternity
systems.”
The eclipse Maternity Information System is intended as a
comprehensive solution to documenting a woman’s complete obstetric
career — from the referral of her first pregnancy to her most recent
obstetric event. It functions as an integrated system, including
real-time data capture from fetal and maternal monitors. It also covers
all aspects of maternity care, fetal medicine, labour management and
neonatal care.
eclipse has been developed as a ‘smart client’ for the Microsoft.net
framework in conjunction with Microsoft’s SQL Server 2000 database, and
the soft-coded user-interface is fully customisable. Support for HL7,
DICOM, SNOMED and ICD codes enables interfacing to PAS, PACS, HRG and
HIS systems. It is also fully NPfIT-compliant.
