IMS compliance in action
Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Trust has become the first
Trust to take advantage of IMS MAXIMS’ UK patient administration system
(PAS), making outpatient booking at the Trust fully automated.
The PAS, which recently completed testing by Connecting for Health (CfH)
has been deemed fully compliant with the national CfH Choose and Book
Service.
“We are very pleased that IMS has delivered this upgrade to the PAS
and that it has gone live without a hitch”, commented Philip Graham,
Head of Information Management and Technology at the Trust. “It means
that we are now able to provide a confirmed date and time for an
outpatient appointment while the patient is still with their GP. The
whole outpatient booking process at the Trust is now automated and we
will begin to see the resulting cost savings as GPs begin to make
bookings.”
IMS MAXIMS, a software supplier to Britain and Ireland for the past
20 years, is based in Sandymount in Buckinghamshire.
