Symantec deal with CfH
Symantec, a US company with a Berkshire-based UK operation, has
announced a three-year deal with NHS Connecting for Health (CfH) to use
the Symantec Ghost Solution Suite in healthcare trusts throughout
England.
Ghost Solution Suite is an enterprise data-imaging and software
solution for managing the life cycles of PCs.
It allows IT administrators to manage the installation, rollout,
refreshes, maintenance and upgrade of PC workstations from a central
point. Each PC on a network can be managed remotely for the purpose of
refreshes, while a straightforward upgrade and migration path for new
machines or operating systems is also put in place. Ghost Solution Suite
is intended to increase productivity while also lowering the overall
‘cost of ownership’ for networked PCs and workstations.
Dr Mark Ferrar, Director of Infrastructure for NHS Connecting for
Health, says: “This deal with Symantec gains best value for the NHS in
England through central negotiation. It means all PCs in the English NHS
are covered by state-of-the-art software to ensure efficient deployment
and support.”
