PC-linked label system saves GPs time
The DYMO LabelWriter is saving GPs’ time, according to the system's
manufacturer, Uxbridge-based Esselte.
The system, which sits on the desk of GPs, practice nurses and
administrators, is PC-linked and compatible with EMIS GP practice
software. Users can simply highlight the patient information they need
within EMIS, drag it into the DYMO label box and print out however many
copies are required. The LabelWriter takes a roll of single white
adhesive labels in 17 different sizes and formats.
The system is being used at Newmarket Medical Practice where it is
said to be saving GPs up to an hour a session.
Angela Griffiths, practice manager says: “We saw the DYMO LabelWriter
advertised on the television and bought one machine to try out. It has
proved so successful that all five GPs in the practice now have their
own individual label printer. In the past they wrote all this
information out by hand when completing forms, letters and sending
samples to the hospital.
