IP-based booking solution for Ipswich
Hampshire-based ntl Business, a provider of communications services
to the public sector, has implemented a voice and data network at
Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust for handling patient bookings in a
cost-effective manner.
The contact-centre solution is intended to enable the Trust’s patient
appointment centre to supply a better service to patients, in line with
the Government’s national performance targets.
The solution makes use of IP (or internet protocol) telephony to link
the call centre to the main hospital site, thereby supplying the Trust
with a dedicated booking facility. Call-centre agents have access to
appointment data, patient scans and records throughout the hospital
site, as well as access to off-site healthcare centres and GPs’
surgeries.
