Automated imaging system for Villa Scassi
Ferrania LifeImaging Technologies has announced that its digital
radiography system, the LifeVision DR982, has been successfully
installed at AO Villa Scassi in Genoa, Italy.
Ferrania, which has a UK operation in Berkshire, describes the DR982
as the ‘jewel in our crown’. It is a robotically controlled unit with a
single, auto-matically positioned detector that can handle a wide range
of projections necessary for general radiography applications. These
latter include emergency xrays of bedridden trauma patients.
The radiographer dials in the required examination type and the system
configures itself automatically, leaving the radiographer free to attend
to the patient.
Professor S Siatta, Chief Radiologist at AO Villa Scassi, says: “We
are very pleased with our new DR unit. We were looking for a solution
that would provide us with the flexibility to image in either a general
or specialist capacity. The DR982 is designed to do both equally as well
and as easily.”
