SERVICE MANAGEMENTNHS Fife IT infrastructure upgrade
Scottish local health authority, NHS Fife, has purchased Axios Systems’
help desk and IT service management (ITSM) solution, assyst, for use by
Fife Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, Primary Care NHS Trust and the Health
Board.
The three NHS Fife units either did not have an ITSM tool at all, were
using an inhouse solution or had installed another commercial product.
But, as a result of the upgrade, assyst is being implemented at a new,
consolidated IT help desk at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, supporting some
3,000 PCs and laptops.
Axios’ assyst product allows customers to manage and control their IT
systems, log and track incidents, and uncover the causes of underlying
problems.
Donald Wilson, Head of IT Services at NHS Fife, says: “We are very
impressed with the information we can get out of assyst. We have been
struggling to correlate incidents with the relevant hardware. Assyst will
help us manage our IT infrastructure better.”
