HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Manchester helps Northern Ireland
Greater Manchester Strategic Health Authority (GMSHA) has won a
contract to help the Department of Health in Northern Ireland (DHSSPSNI)
to help cut waiting times for treatment, as well as to modernise the
services it provides.
The DHSSPSNI will work with the GMSHA to develop a strategic framework
for the provision of elective care in Northern Ireland. GMHSA was chosen
because of its successful transformation of its own health services, which
included the first SHA-wide systematised approach to managing demand for
elective secondary-care services — known as Tier 2 — which has now been
replicated across much of the NHS in England.
