Seeing double with text-recognition solution Readiris Pro
IRIS Group has launched a new version of its flagship optical character
recognition (OCR) software for the Windows platform, which is available in
two forms: the Readiris Pro 10 and the Readiris Pro 10 Corporate Edition.
While Readiris Pro 10 addresses home and professional users, the
Corporate Edition is geared more towards the high-volume needs of the
professional market. Both Readiris Pro forms can retype text from scanned
documents and image files, and convert PDF files into editable text. The
Corporate Edition also supports high-end scanners, multi-function
peripherals and digital scanners, and generates fully searchable PDF
files.
The Corporate Edition is aimed at businesses that need to supply their
electronic document management system with PDF archives offering an
optimised size and full text-search capabilities. “It’s a real production
OCR software for companies”, says Pierre De Muelenaere, President and CEO
of IRIS Group. “It supports high-speed and duplex scanners and is able to
separate batches in documents, to index documents thanks to barcoding
reading, and to generate PDF archives with an optimised file size.”
