MRSA audit programme from CHKS
The new MRSA Diagnostic Audit program from CHKS, a leading provider of
analytical benchmarking to the NHS, is designed to give a clear picture of
the incidence and distribution of hospital-acquired infection,
demonstrating the clinical impact by location, casemix and outcome, as
well as the organisational consequences in bed use and costs.
Identification of incidence of infection comes with immediate online
access to patient-level information. A data quality report of a trust’s
MRSA dataset is presented in control-chart form, identifying where
infection rates deviate from the benchmarked standard level, and
signalling where attention and action are required.
“Maintaining low rates of infection is vital to the successful and
timely recovery of all patients, and chief executives have a legal duty to
identify, assess and control the risk of infection, for the benefit of
patients and staff”, commented Graham Harries, Chief Executive of
Warwick-based CHKS. “The MRSA Diagnostic Unit enables a trust to do this.”
