Geac to streamline workflow at Taunton
Geac has won a contract with Taunton and Somerset NHS Trust to
streamline the workflow of its financial department. The Trust will extend
its mainframe-based Geac Enterprise Server system with an accounts payable
module and a management reporting solution. The Trust hope that this
enhanced system will provide crucial performance information to Trust
managers and simplify the production of monthly budget reports.
“To redesign our clinical processes, we needed to be able to answer
questions like how long it takes to treat a patient and where is the best
place to treat them”, explained Rod Barnes, Trust Director of Finance.
“Questions like these have financial consequences and the Geac solution
will enable us to identify these costs and to improve and remodel our
processes. Geac was selected not only for the product functionality, but
for the robustness of the entire system and the transparent costs provided
for implementation and support.”
