Automated test results
Speech recognition specialist Telephonetics has released a new module,
on their ACCESS platform, for providing patients with test results. The
Medical Results Service allows patients to ring a dedicated number,
identify themselves with a unique piece of information, and obtain the
result of any recent tests, along with the recommended course of action.
The system works in conjunction with a trust’s existing procedures and, if
the patient still wishes to speak to a human being, they are given another
number to call.
“We have found the system is a preferred option for several patients
who are often embarrassed by potential medical conditions and prefer the
anonymity of an automated service”, said Telephonetics Director of Sales
and Marketing, Paul Welham. “As always, there is an option to speak to a
live person. The service ensures no call is left unanswered, which is
critical when the patient is often extremely anxious.”
