ISL Biometrics has unveiled SentriNET IMAGEPRESS, a powerful
clinical-imaging-optimisation application. It uses advanced coding
processes, capable of reducing the size of a file while preserving the
integrity of an image, that can be delivered across a network and the
Internet.
This combination of Visioncom’s Optimise technology with ISL’s own
biometric authorisation solution has been developed specifically for use
with medical image file types, including jpeg, tiff and DICOM. Security
has been guaranteed by the integration of both an AES 256-bit encryption
algorithm, which is automatically applied to all images when they are
optimised using ISL’s biometric fingerprint authorisation, API.
“SenriNET’s IMAGEPRESS application offers a very efficient tool that
will offer a solution to optimise current bandwidth and avoids the
difficulties inherent with jpeg compression solutions, which often
distort the images”, said Dr Roderick Grant, Consultant Radiologist at
BHR Hospitals NHS Trust. “This, added to a very high built-in encryption
and biometric security ensures a high degree of confidence in the
integrity and security of all data sent via the Internet.”
