The NHSU is a new organisation providing learning development
opportunities for everyone working in health and social care. It held an
East of England Regional Conference in May. More than 170 delegates
from Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and
Essex gathered to sample a wide range of new online interactive learning
tools presented by several companies. NHSU’s taster services included
its First Contact and Customer Care programmes along with the induction
product, Working for the NHS. Telephone lines were connected to U-i, the
university’s telephone advice line (08000 150 850) that gives
confidential, impartial advice on learning to all health and social care
staff.
The event highlighted the company’s commitment to the promotion of
workplace learning and the development of new technologies, enabling
staff to achieve their learning goals in spite of time pressure and
shift working.
