Gartner to provide NPfIT with market intelligence

The National Programme for IT has awarded a contract to Gartner for the provision of market intelligence under OGC S-CAT arrangements. NPfIT senior executives will have online access to all Gartner research reports and telephone enquiry access to all Gartner analysts worldwide.

The company’s Healthcare Research Director, Jonathan Edwards, will lead the service provision. The research will enable NPfIT to save time and money by learning from best-practice approaches to IT, healthcare and business issues in other organisations around the world. It will also help it understand key issues such as achieving value for money from IT, technology adoption and change management, application integration, and mobile and wireless technologies. As part of the agreement, Gartner will run a number of workshops for NPfIT executives on topics of interest, and will provide access to the company’s UK conferences and its annual symposium.
