International law firm Eversheds has been appointed by North East London
Mental Health Trust to manage a new PFI deal that will provide new
healthcare resources for the region. The £25m Mascalls Park Re-provision
PFI scheme will develop an acute mental health facility, planned to
occupy the site of Oldchurch Hospital in Romford, Essex. The site is due
to be vacated by the current occupants, Barking, Havering and Redbridge
Hospitals NHS Trust, when they move into their new PFI hospital on the
adjacent Oldchurch Park site. “The PFI deal is a major project for the
Trust and is designed to further raise the standard of mental health
services through the development of 21st century facilities”,
said Simon Jones, Associate Director at the Trust. “Eversheds is
acknowledged to be one of the leading firms for health trusts working on
PFIs and I am confident that, with their help, we will quickly reach a
successful conclusion to the project.”
