The British Medical Journal Publishing Group has selected
Oxford-based CSW to develop a content-management system. The new system
will be designed using CSW’s casenotes KMS, a secure, cost-effective,
web-based solution, founded on XML and open-standards technology. This
will provide full version and access control to protect valuable digital
assets, workflow tools to manage the editing process, the use of
metadata and ontologies to enhance navigation and search capabilities,
and web-based access for remote users. “Our current system for
producing the BMJ in all its various forms is inefficient,
complicated and slow. We therefore cannot adapt to a changing market and
our flexibility is often compromised”, said Jane Smith, Deputy Editor.
“We are confident that this new system will be an important improvement,
enabling us to provide better support to staff working on the products,
increase efficiency, and respond to customer demand more quickly and
effectively.”
