PCTI launch text messaging module for GP practice workflow system

21 July 2010

PCTI has launched iTxT, a SMS and NHS mail messaging add-on for its Docman workflow and collaboration system.

This new software module will be provided free of charge to its customers on standard support and will assist them in achieving greater efficiencies and costs savings when arranging appointments for their patients.

The module will enable their 5000 GP practice customers to communicate with patients via SMS or NHS Mail at no cost.

With approximately 60% of the UK population owning a mobile phone, GP practices will be able to communicate with most of their patients to arrange appointments faster, removing the frustration often encountered when trying to make contact by telephone.

Ric Thompson, Managing Director, PCTI “We are pleased to launch this new module to our Docman community, helping practices save time and money whilst increasing efficiency. During these hard economic times, suppliers to the NHS have a duty to come up with new low cost or in the case of iTXT no cost, innovative solutions to drive savings.”

After successfully launching their EDT Solution also free of charge, allowing practices to receive electronic communications from multiple secondary care systems, they have been inundated with enquiries. Both solutions offer opportunities for real cost savings in printing, postage, and telephone, whilst at same improving data quality and patient experience.
