National Knowledge Week on Skin Cancer
9 May 2008
The National Library for Health (NLH) Cancer Specialist Library and
Skin Disorders Specialist Library, supported by the National Institute
for Innovation and Improvement, have teamed together to hold the first
National Knowledge Week on Skin Cancer this week (5-9 May 2008).
The event is arranged to correspond with Sun Awareness Week and Euro
Melanoma Day, which also occur this week.
The National Knowledge Week is particularly aimed at NHS health
professionals, and aims to highlight the sources of information and
guidance on skin cancers and their treatment that are available.
Included as part of the Knowledge Week will be the Libraries’ first
Annual Evidence Updates on Melanoma and Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer, which
bring together the results of a comprehensive search for systematic
reviews published over the last three years.
There will also be commentaries from invited experts discussing new
evidence and recent developments in a wide range of skin cancer topics.
