Plain Healthcare launches 'work smart' campaign for GPs
16 April 2008
Plain Healthcare has launched a 'work smarter' campaign to promote
its telephone triage systems in the wake of GPs agreeing to increase
their opening hours. Family doctors and their negotiating body the
British Medical Association (BMA) have agreed to opening surgeries an
extra three hours a week.
Plain Healthcare’s Sales and Marketing Director, Chris Coyne, said:
“Longer opening hours are not a reason for concern but can actually be
an opportunity for increased revenue for efficiently-run practices. We
are stepping up our ‘Work smarter, not harder' campaign to GPs because
they can streamline their operations with our telephone assessment
systems Odyssey TeleAssess and Odyssey Reception.
"Telephone triage means GP appointments are for the patients who
really need to see their doctor. Practice staff and receptionists using
Odyssey TeleAssess and our new Odyssey Reception can make practices very
efficient by filtering out the people who can self care or be seen by a
practice nurse. This can relieve a great deal of the GP’s workload. By
fine tuning operations this way patients benefit and doctors will see
they can actually increase patient throughput.”
