GPs invited to cash in on patient records
Thousands of GPs have sent personal information about their patients
to an opinion-polling firm, Ipsos MORI, in a scheme organised and funded
by the Department of Health.
The data consists of the names, addresses, and NHS numbers of all
patients who visited their GPs between July and October — about 5m
people. The exercise, originally launched as the National Patient
Experience Survey, is now called the GP Patient Survey — Your Doctor,
Your Experience, Your Say.
