Access to healthcare made difficult for people with psychiatric problems and/or learning disabilities

 

An extensive survey by the Disability Rights Commission (DRC) has shown that people with mental health problems and/or learning difficulties get the worst healthcare, and one of the main reasons for this is that they face real barriers to accessing services.

Despite high levels of ill health, over 50% of people with mental health problems and/or people with learning disabilities said they experienced difficulties when trying to see their GPs.
