Americans do not need to consent to EPR says Supreme Court

 

The Supreme Court of the USA has rejected a lawsuit brought by privacy advocates who argued that patients should consent to having their details stored on electronic patient records.

The case arose from a subtle change in HIPAA rules in 2003 that left the decision whether or not to seek patient consent to healthcare providers.
