| The Government has
confirmed that certain personal data relating to children of celebrities
will not be stored on the Children’s Index, which is expected to become
operational next year. This is because it is felt that such children
could become a target if their names and addresses were to be stored on
the database. The database was recommended by the public inquiry into
the death of Victoria Climbié.
