| According to a
study by research institute the Rand Corporation, the Veterans Health
Administration — the US equivalent of the NHS — provides the
best-quality healthcare in the United States, despite spending $1,300
less per patient than private healthcare providers. The reason,
according to the Rand Corporation study, is the VHA’s open-source
OpenVista EHR.
