New Australian public-service access card rejected 20 years ago

 
According to a new report, called Quacking like a duck, the functions of the proposed Australian public-service access card, which is to be used by the Health Service, are identical to those proposed for a card 20 years ago and overwhelmingly rejected.

The author, Professor Graham Greenleaf, has concluded that, although “the Howard Government is adamant that the access card is not a national ID card”, the new card “is the same in every significant aspect”.
