Clinical Coders — PbR / HRG4 x 6

This highly renowned and well established healthcare
organisation is looking for 6 Clinical Coders to work at
various sites across the UK. The Clinical Coder will join a
highly skilled administrative team working to implement an
improvement methodology to ensure depth of coding and
accurate funding under PbR (Payment by Results).
The Clinical Coder will promote HRG4 and encourage the
routine completion of accurate and comprehensive clinical
information as part of the patients’ medical records. In
short, the Clinical Coder’s key role it to improve the depth
of coding from the Hospital’s activity data and assist in
auditing, training and streamlining of process.
Key responsibilities
- Promote a robust data quality culture as the basis
for PbR by articulating the need for and benefits of
data quality in creating reliable and robust health
information;
- Promote the complex issues associated with PbR and
HRG4;
- Work closely with the Hospital’s billing and finance
teams and clinical staff;
- Monitor and analyse the ward listings on PAS and the
completion of discharge summaries;
- Code clinical information when required to ensure
that the Data Quality and Clinical Coding within the
Hospital achieve their deadlines.
Experience and qualifications
- Proven track record in Clinical Coding;
- High level of competency and understanding of all
aspects of clinical coding;
- Experience of working with the EPR (Electronics
Patient Record);
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience of
coding improvements, HRG validation, quality assurance,
audit and resolving errors.
