Interfacing Team Leader

An exciting opportunity for an Interfacing Team Leader
has arisen. The Team Leader will work with the Product
Development Manager to ensure the delivery of Interfacing
solutions between the client and 3rd-party clinical systems.
Principal responsibilities
- To co-ordinate, control and "hands on" develop
interfaces;
- To lead and guide the Interface Team to achieve
high-level of effectiveness and productivity;
- Development and on-going maintenance of
documentation (specifications, interface maps,
support guides, etc);
- To enclose and co-ordinate staff development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Thorough understanding of programming techniques,
environments and tools;
- Good all round IT knowledge (networking,
communication protocols, web technologies etc);
- Some knowledge of NHS and Healthcare Information
Systems;
- At least 10 years experience in a hands on Interface
development role;
- A successful and proven track record in leading
software development teams;
- Experience of developing, planning, monitoring,
controlling and delivering software to NHS Trusts.
Technical skills
Experience of interfacing both modern and legacy systems
using one or more of the following commercial interface
engines: RHAPSODY, BIZTALK, eGATE, ENSEMBLE, WEBSPHERE,
MICROSCRIP / NEON, CLOVERLEAF.
Knowledge of one or more of the following types of
interfaces is required:
- Single way real-time MPI feed (from PAS to
departmental system);
- Bi-directional real-time MPI feed (between PAS and a
departmental system);
- Real-time transactional interface (e.g. Query /
response such as a Patient Name Search);
- Test requesting / Ordering;
- Pathology / Radiology Results reporting
