Dr Yadulla Guliev, Head of the Medical Informatics Research
Centre, Program Systems Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences,
explains the rationale of this toolkit for building hospital information
systems.
ABSTRACT
The Interin toolkit is a suite of software tools, engineering solutions,
and techniques for developing integrated information systems in healthcare
institutions. The technologies were created at the Program Systems Institute
of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the mid 1990s and are now used by
several large healthcare organisations for building their hospital
information systems. The history of the Interin toolkit’s development, its
key features and underlying principles are described.
