New frontiers in national clinical audit
Martin Old reports on advances in providing information about the
progress of three of England’s national service frameworks.
ABSTRACT
National service frameworks (NSFs) are providing the impetus to forge
ahead with measurable improvements in NHS care, driving up the quality of
services for all patients and removing the so-called ‘postcode lottery’ of
care.
This article looks at the National Clinical Audit Support Programme (NCASP),
delivered by the Health and Social Care Information Centre, and explains how
it represents a new frontier for patient care.
