Benefits of Nottingham City’s new information system in community rehabilitation and intermediate-care services

Peter Montgomery and Helen McCloughry describe the difference a new information system has made to Nottingham City Rehabilitation Service’s ability to improve its services for older people.

ABSTRACT

Nottingham City Rehabilitation Service and Antecedent Ltd have developed an integrated information system for intermediate-care and rehabilitation services. The software is used by clerical staff at the service ‘duty point’ and by managers. It has successfully overcome a number of difficulties, providing better access to services, better patient/client care and easier data collection.
