Doctors’ perceptions of the IT systems in their NHS acute and
specialist trusts
Daniel Smith, John Bailey and Jonathan Boyce
outline some of the findings from a national study, carried out last
year in England and Wales.
abstract
This paper summarises the results of an audit that measured doctors’
use of the available IT systems in NHS acute and specialist trusts in
England and Wales. Use of available systems varies considerably. A number
of trust-level factors, including involvement of doctors in the management
of trust IT were associated with their increased use of, and satisfaction
with, their trusts’ IT systems.
