abstract
The issues of safety in the design, development, maintenance and
use of healthcare information systems are raised in the context of the
volume of adverse events in healthcare. Confidentiality involves trust
and it is difficult to separate the healthcare environment from the
wider political situation. In that context, trust is currently
difficult to sustain.
